sanjo Posted October 27, 2022 Posted October 27, 2022 This is a contentious issue around the ideology of responsibility and ones rights to do what they want. I live in a v quite country setting where drink driving is almost accepted amongst 'exsperienced' drink drivers. Recently I've entered a discourse with locals after what I feel is a responsible thing to do and take keys off someone who has been drinking all night and displayed violent tendancies. Their misconstrued, in my opinion, to there rights to there own decisions shouldn't have been contended. I feel that I did the right thing. But the debate goes on about how I restricted/controlled someone's rights to be responsible for there own actions. What are people thoughts? Quote
Kym Posted October 28, 2022 Posted October 28, 2022 Do we not all have the right to keep others safe? If people want the right to do anything, then how about the right to murder anyone we don't like, or steal anything we want? We all have the right to keep others safe, so stopping someone doing something is the right thing to do Quote
Josh Hill Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 I enjoy driving while drunk, it gives me a buzz i really miss at the moment after losing my boyfriend and our 4 dogs after he shat on their dinner. If i do hit someone then it’s a huge W. Quote
