Andy Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 (edited) Nobody asks to be created. People only procreate for purely selfish reasons. Usually, they just want a miniature version of themselves, or they had unprotected sex and the woman didn't want an abortion. They don't procreate to keep the human species alive. You are in no position to fearmonger/preach about climate change if you selfishly create more humans. When you create a human, you are ultimately responsible for all the misery, stress and illness it suffers, as well as being responsible for its death. A human can only suffer these things if that human is created in the first place. Nobody's offspring is a gift to humanity or a miracle. In fact, nobody outside the immediate family really cares much whether it exists or not. Putting semen into a body to create humans is no more magical than putting food into a body to create fecal matter. Even if you selflessly devote a couple of decades of your life to raising and caring for the human you created, that doesn't alter the fact that you selfishly created it, nor does it alter the fact that it will endure misery, illness and death. I wonder how many parents on their death bed think about how their beloved offspring will suffer the same miserable, painful and scary fate because of their own selfishness. Let's discuss.
